Insight Scans

At Barto Family Chiropractic, we don’t guess at what’s going on, we test – especially when it comes to pregnancy and pediatrics. So we use advanced tools to gain a comprehensive understanding of your body’s nervous system functioning so that we can create informed care plans to help you reach your goals.

CLA’s Insight Scans bridge the gap of understanding that chiropractic is about more than bad backs. By measuring changes in temperature, muscle function and heart rate, the Insight Scans give Dr. Stephanie an objective measure of how well you or your child’s nervous system is functioning.

How the Insight Scans Work

The Thermal Scanner assesses the part of your nervous system that controls your organs and glands, the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). This tool precisely measures the balance of temperature along your spine and allows us to monitor how well your Autonomic Nervous system is responding to care. This tool is key to pediatric cases which usually present with organic complaints rather than musculoskeletal and helps us determine the health of the ANS in the absence of symptoms.

The Surface EMG exam evaluates the function of the muscles that support your spine. This test shows how energy is being distributed throughout the spine and helps us determine patterns of stress and tension.

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) measures changes in your heart rate over time. This is a well researched way for us to determine how your body is responding to stress. Our bodies respond to stress in two ways, either by going into protection or fight/flight. In today’s high stress world, we often respond with fight or flight, which depletes your “gas tank” causing you to feel more tired than you think you should. Being “stuck” in this type of stress triggers a wide range of conditions plaguing our society and children today.

“Dr. Stephanie is wonderful with the kids, and easy to talk to.

She listens to your concerns and always has something to help. If she doesn’t have the answer that visit, know that she will have something for you on your next visit. I would highly recommend Dr. Stephanie!”
